The Toyota Landcruiser 79 Series is our primary specialty. Ben Sharp designed the system himself, and we stock a full range for both single and dual cab configurations. We also specialise in the Nissan Patrol Y62 and Toyota Landcruiser 200 Series.
For sports and performance vehicles, custom fabrication and bolt-on systems are available across a wide range of makes and models. If you're not sure, call us, and we'll tell you straight away what we can do for your vehicle.
A DPF back exhaust replaces everything from the diesel particulate filter back, the most common upgrade for modern diesel 4WDs. A turbo back replaces everything from the turbo outlet all the way through, giving you the maximum flow and performance gain. A cat back replaces everything from the catalytic converter back and is more commonly used on petrol performance vehicles. Which one is right for your vehicle depends on what you're trying to achieve, call us and we'll talk it through.
Here at Sharp Exhausts, we use mild, aluminium or 409 / 304 grade stainless steel, depending on the requirements of your car and the components required.
Because they are fundamentally different products, an import is mass-produced overseas from whatever material keeps costs down, welded by machine, and designed to fit as many vehicles as possible rather than any one of them perfectly. A Sharp Exhaust system is cut and bent in-house to the exact dimensions of your vehicle, welded by hand from premium stainless steel, and built by someone with over 24 years of experience who will answer the phone if you have a question. The price reflects the material, the process, and the craftsmanship, and the system will outlast a cheap import by years.
Yes. Sound output is something we factor into every custom build. If you want something subtle, something aggressive, or something specific, tell us what you're after, and we'll build accordingly. For bolt-on systems, the sound profile is largely determined by the system design, but we can advise on what each option will sound like before you commit.
This depends on your manufacturer and the specific modification. Generally speaking, an exhaust upgrade on its own does not void your entire vehicle warranty; manufacturers must demonstrate that the modification caused a specific issue before they can decline a warranty claim on that basis. That said, if you're concerned, check with your dealer before proceeding. We're happy to discuss what we're fitting and provide documentation if needed.
Yes. The majority of our 4WD work is on diesel vehicles; the 79 Series and 200 Series are diesel platforms. Diesel exhaust systems have specific requirements around DPF compliance and heat management, and we factor all of that into every build.
It depends on the complexity of the job and current workshop load. Straightforward custom builds can often be turned around quickly, some jobs are done same day or next day. More complex fabrication takes longer. Call us before you come in and we'll give you an honest timeframe.
Yes. The Sharp Exhausts 79 Series Landcruiser range is available online and ships across Australia and New Zealand. For custom builds, the vehicle needs to come to the workshop, but if you're interstate and want to discuss options, call us.
In some cases, yes, call us to discuss. We're primarily a fabrication workshop, but if you've got a quality system that needs to be fitted properly, get in touch, and we'll tell you what's involved.
Yes. We stand behind everything we build. If something isn't right, call us, and we'll sort it out. We're a small team, and our reputation is built entirely on the quality of our work; we're not going anywhere.
Walk-ins are welcome for straightforward jobs and enquiries. For custom builds and consultations, it's worth calling ahead so we can allocate the right amount of time to your job. Call us on 03 9744 5005.
